MESO Puddle Lights
Also known as courtesy lights, or puddle lamps. These downward facing lights are usually found on the bottom of the mirrors in more luxury type vehicles. Illuminating the way as you enter or exit. A small addition, but after using them you can finally appreciate the little things.
I decided to bring that idea to the Toyota Tacoma. Obviously, the truck is not equipped with them. Heck...even a 50K marked up PRO doesn't have this basic upgrade.(Yes, I'm looking at you TOYOTA). So there many different design challenges such as; Location? What light to use? How to wire it? And of course the 2 biggest ones.. Form and Function.
I teamed up with VLEDs to produce a tailor made light for my specific applications. With a smaller dimension than off the shelf and Kelvin rating of 5500K, they should compliment the Puddle pods perfectly.
Here is the final 4 Runner version
Some light output comparisons
Since the 4runner is already equipped with puddle lights(albeit very weak) these new replacements will swap right over. As for the Tacoma... the kit will still be "plug and play" using a Factory made T harness, But wires will have to be ran up to the mirror.
